Oh the Emotions!

I think Jackson is pretty funny.  Since he was born he has always been very expressive.  He makes so many different facial expressions, and now that he's more vocal, his expressions have expanded even more.  The best time to capture a variety of expressions is right when J is put in a new position or place.  Today, I put him in a seat a friend lent me, and this is what I got, all within about 30 seconds:

"What's this?  This is kinda cool.  And these fingers are delicious."

"Ok, I'm not sure about this chair but my fingers are still delicious."

"No!  Get me out of here!  Now!"

"Well, this might be alright.  Let me think about it."

"Ok, I can deal with this.  Just get me those fingers!"

"That's much better.  This chair is alright."

I love this boy!!!

Washer/Dryer Update

The dryer is fixed!  Around 9:30pm on Saturday Arnold finished putting the dryer back together.  It was thoroughly cleaned and put back in its place.  And the best part is, it actually works!  It took a little longer than expected but it's up and running!

Happy 4 Months!

Four months ago today Jackson was born.  It seems like it wasn't that long ago but at the same time it seems like he has been with us forever.  He has changed our lives in so many ways and I'm happier than I imagined I could be.  I love being a mom and waking up every day to that beautiful baby boy.  He's always doing something to make me smile.  These are the new things I've noticed in the past month:

-J rolls over onto his side when he's sleeping
-He puts his hands on his head and over his eyes when he's tired
-J puts 2 to 4 fingers in his mouth at a time, switching back and forth from right to left
-He will look up when his name is called
-He can sit up unassisted for a few seconds
-J is talking more and more, making the "c" and "g" sounds, and varies his intonation

Happy 4 Months Baby J!!!

A Little Work Around the House

Yesterday, my mother-in-law so graciously did some laundry for me and while drying, a load started smelling like it was burning.  That's never good.  When I got home from work she showed me the clothes and they smelled like cigarette smoke/burnt popcorn.  Gross.  When Arnold got home from work I told him what had happened and he started asking me a bunch of questions, none of which I had answers to.  So, he decided he would find out for himself what the issue was.  It started with simply pulling the washer/dryer out last night and taking a peek.  A full day and two trips to the hardware store later, this is where we're at...

Arnold thinks it is just a build-up of lint, which is literally everywhere, and he needed to take everything apart to clean it out.  I was told it will be up and running by the end of the day.  I love my handy husband!

Meanwhile, baby J and I have been hanging out, playing, napping, crying (mostly J), and eating Dinkel's (mostly me).  Happy Saturday!

Let's Blog!

So I've decided to start a blog.  Now that I'm a mom and have a beautiful baby boy, I am finding that I want to share so many of these special moments with my friends and family.  I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family and want to share it with the world.  So here goes...
